More than 10 ‘smart’ projects to improve the quality of life in cities, developed by ENEA. Everyone is focused on the application of  ‘smart’ technology to urban centers, with the aim, for example, to reduce consumption and promote energy efficiency and environmental sustainability through an integrated service management, monitoring, and network integration.

Among the projects of more immediate interest to municipalities are those focused on delivering smart services for public lighting, sustainable mobility, energy management of buildings, environmental monitoring, ICT, security, waste cycle , the water and energy networks. Among these, for example, the projects ‘Smart Village’, for the testing of services and smart technologies in urban centers; ‘City 2.0’, being in L’Aquila, or ‘Res Novae’, for the development of an integrated platform for the distribution of energy, traffic management and real-time monitoring of the city center.

Package ‘smart city initiatives’, also belong the project’ Pell ‘for the creation of a central data collection and diagnostics on energy consumption and performance of public lighting and public buildings and the project Espresso, for the’ use of secondary substations to make available smart services to network users. Energy efficiency for the service of public lighting is also dedicated the project ‘Lumiere’, which have already joined 800 municipalities.
